I was proud of being “booked out,” but deep down, I knew it wasn’t freedom. I was just another version of an employee, except my boss changed every month. I was constantly chasing deadlines, not dreams.
The First Shift — Discovering Leverage
The breakthrough came when I created a Framer template for fun. It was something simple I wished existed when I was starting out. I uploaded it, shared it quietly on X, and forgot about it. A few days later, I woke up to a $49 sale. That was the first time I’d earned money without being awake to do the work.
It hit me — I didn’t just sell a product; I sold time. I’d built something once that could earn repeatedly. That one sale changed everything. It wasn’t about the money — it was about leverage.
The System — Build, Learn, Repeat
From there, I started experimenting: one template, then two, then a bundle. Some flopped. Others took off quietly. I learned to treat digital products like assets, not art. They don’t need to be perfect — they just need to solve real problems.
I built systems instead of one-offs: templates with content updates, automated email flows, simple landing pages. It wasn’t glamorous, but it worked. I stopped working in my business and started working on it.
The Outcome — Freedom Over Everything
A year later, I was earning six figures in revenue from digital products. But more importantly, I had time. I could take a break without worrying about income disappearing. That’s the beauty of digital products — they create freedom, not just cash.
If you’re stuck trading time for money, start small. Build something once. It doesn’t have to change the world — it just has to work once. The rest is momentum.
